The IP address 192.168.1.254 is a private IP address which means it will fit up to a certain range which is reserved from IANA as a private range. Generally, when we purchase a new router or modem they provide username and password. This username and password will protect you from unnecessary connections.

But sometimes there are certain cases which we come across with forgetting the password of our own router or modem. So what can you do at that time, I guess you might be so much worried because you cannot access your router. 192.168.1.254 IP Address Login Admin Password:

The IP address 192.168.l.254 admin codes are a private IP address, and this IP address can be only used for IPv4 address, it cannot be used for Ipv6. This IP address is used as a factory default IP address for a large number of routers and cable modems or wireless modems. This IP address will help you to access to your routers but due to some problem, you may be not able to access it through. There are some routers and modems ever which are compatible with IP address 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.254 IP; the only difference is in the last three digits.

This IP address 192.168.1.254 is mostly used by modern routers such as Linksys switches, 2Wire routers, TP-Link routers Alcatel ADSL Modems, Thompson ADSL routers, Westell ADSL Modems, 3Com routers, ADSL billions of routers, SRW2023 and many more routers.

What should you do if you Forgot your IP address Username and Password?

Whenever you purchase a new router or modem, you will get a default login username and password. But if someone has changed it or if you have forgotten your username or password you need to reset your router to factory default settings.

But always keep in mind that, if you reset your router, it will turn to factory defaults and you will lose all your settings.

Step 1: First of all you need to turn off the router.

Step 2: Now you have to press and hold the reset button on the rear panel but to do that you need a pointed pin, a needle or compass and then turn on the router. But do not release the reset button and you have to keep on holding the button for around 5- 10 seconds after turning on your router.

Step 3: Now you can release the button and wait for the device to reboot.

Step 4: Now you can connect your computer to your router through a network cable or by using a Wi-Fi connection.

Note some important points:

Always make sure that your router is powered on before it restarts completely.

Try with your default IP address and enter your default username and password as “admin”.

Make sure that the IP address of your computer is within the same subnet of your router device which means the subnet mask should be 255.255.255.0 and the default gateway should be same with the IP address of your router.
